D. Pittman Dickey graduated from undergraduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1972 and from law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1974. He began his legal career in Pittsboro, N.C. He moved to Fayetteville where he has practiced in the same law practice since 1978.
Pitt Dickey has handled hundreds of Social Security Disability (SSD) cases for over 20 years in southeastern North Carolina appearing before Administrative Law Judges from hearing offices throughout North and South Carolina. He regularly attends state and national conventions to keep his knowledge of SSD laws current. Disability claims are decided in a very complex system of regulations and time frames and are frustrating for the claimants who must deal with the delays and technical rules. This area of law touches the lives of people who really need help. Pitt Dickey is the right attorney to guide you through the SSD maze.
Pitt Dickey has handled personal bankruptcy cases under Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 in North Carolina counties including Cumberland, Harnett, Lee, Sampson, and Robeson County since 1978. No one wants to file bankruptcy but illness, job loss, marital difficulties or overuse of easy credit can leave a person with no other choice. Pitt Dickey is adept at stopping creditor harassment, law suits, foreclosures and in some cases keeping the family home for his clients by effective use of the bankruptcy laws.
