Allen D. Smith is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina where he graduated from Terry Sanford High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina. He joined his father's practice in 1987 upon graduation from the University of North Carolina Law School at Chapel Hill, N.C. For the last 18 years, he has been a powerful advocate for people suffering from traumatic injury.

Allen Smith understands the complexities of cases which result in catastrophic injuries such as traumatic brain injury, paralysis, significant orthopedic injuries, and quadriplegia. He concentrates his practice in the areas of those injured as a result of negligence of others. This includes injuries incurred as a result of negligent medical treatment at nursing homes as well as during labor and delivery. He has also litigated complete cases involving serious injuries due to road construction negligence, negligent security, trucking collisions and motor vehicle accidents.
